Raytown, MO ─ The $1,150,000 capital improvement streetscape project in Downtown Raytown is complete and will be celebrated on Wednesday October 5, 2016 at 3 PM at the intersection of 63rd Street and Raytown Road.
The intent of this project has been to enhance the vehicular and pedestrian access of the heart of our city while also bolstering the aesthetic feel of the area.
The project provided:
new signage and traffic signals
decorative street lights
eight foot tall limestone monuments
landscaping improvements
new/wider sidewalks
reverse angle parking
bike lanes
As the epicenter of our community, this is where we congregate, celebrate and commemorate. Now, the area is appropriately suited for such vital events and the growth of the business community.
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will begin promptly at 3 PM and will feature commentary by Mayor Michael McDonough and Steve Guenther, President of the Raytown Main Street Association.
Questions regarding the ceremony and/or the project should be addressed to Tom Cole, Public Information Officer, tomc@raytown.mo.us or 816.674.0789.
