RAYTOWN HISTORICAL SOCIETY’S AMBASSADORS PROGRAM

On Monday, March 6th, the popular Ambassadors programs will reopen with an interesting and unusual subject, “The Life and Works of Mary Rockwell Hook.”

Well known and admired in the architectural world, her designs during the 1920’s and 1930’s in the Sunset Hills area of Kansas City have received many listings on the National Register of Historic Places.

One of her designs is a home in our area, that of “Four Gates,” located at 13001 Little Blue Road.

Retired MU Professor Tom Cooke, who knew Mrs. Hook personally, will present the program which will include a slide presentation of many of the homes along with the fascinating facts of her life.
